“ A 90 minute drive along the coast from Brighton to Portsmouth, industrial wind and driving rain conditions. Arriving in the city on the day of the south coast run, spending another hour finding somewhere to park the car only to get a parking ticket. Stand in the rain for 2 hours get separated from your companions and family. Ending up bedraggled and dripping wet cold and moody. This was not conducive to a dining experience. Arriving at the Clubhouse on South sea commons, with this mindset I was already predetermined to have a bad afternoon. My first impression was not great, I'm thinking an awkwardly laid out dining area, the ambient noise pollution in an echoed high ceilings. Children's noise, loud talking and the impression of unorganised chaos. So let me clarify, that was definitely more my mindset than the actuality. We arrived for our booking at 3:00 p.m. it was very busy but our table for nine people was ready after a very short wait. This was the first Sunday of them providing a double sitting, to say that the staff were working very hard to accommodate everyone's needs is an understatement. Fabulous waiting staff, great personalities and engagement. Professional but not over formal, I like that. No I won't pretend that everything was perfect it wasn't, I could go on about the table was a little sticky, but listen they were very busy that day so I overlook it. Waiting time for our food was uncomfortably long, however we entertained ourselves and it was a nice time spent with friends and family. So actually that was a good thing. The again I recognise they were very busy, the staff also recognise that it was an uncomfortable waiting time for our service and without prompt remove the cost of our drinks from The Bill. This is a highly commended action and went a huge way to make us feel appreciated for being there. Now the most important part "THE FOOD". O.M.G x 2 = OOMMGG. I had a traditional roast beef Sunday dinner. Untraditional "Cheese Donut" starter. Gravy and a Beef Rague, Cauliflower Cheese Bake and Of course Potatoes and Veg. No need to go into micro details, IT WAS THE BEST COMBO ROAST DINNER FLAVOUR KICKING ROAST SATISFYING EVENT FOR YEARS. IT KICKED ASS. It shouldn't of, didn't look like it would, I didn't want it to, I wanted it to fail badly. Great work everyone. I will happily drive again in wind and rain to eat there on a Sunday any time. ”

“ I recently visited The Club House and I must say that I was delighted with the place. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance. The restaurant decor was tastefully done, a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. Let's not forget the food, I sat in the tables outside enjoying the sun with an Iced coffee and I had a full english sandwich(that was the first time I had a full english in a sandwich) and I must say it was amazing, great quality ingredients and taste. I also had the best pancakes ever! The pancakes could have easily been for 2 people but I had all of them to myself! I had to let the staff know how good they were. To top this amazing experience, I went and played some tennis with a friend of mine right next to the Club House. Overall, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I'll definitely be coming back soon to try other dishes. ”

“ I often utilise the clubhouse for co working as there is a lot of spacious tables and wifi, and at certain times it’s very quiet allowing me to focus. Likewise the ambience can be lively at the weekend and I meet with friends to enjoy a brunch. Some of the best attributes about the Club House are the staffs attitude towards pets/ dogs who are genuinely welcomed here, as well as the menu. The food is some of the best in southsea, particularly the pancake, the in house focaccia bread and the açai bowl- which is not offered nearly anywhere else locally. The staff are engaging and can’t do enough for you and the space itself is open, bright and welcoming. The Club House is another great addition to the area, and I’m so glad the tennis club is finally being utilised to its potential! ”

“ The Club House is the perfect new addition to Southsea! The interior inside is beautiful and makes it such a fresh, welcoming space which is really lovely to sit in with friends, family or to work with a coffee. I visited today with my family and we all had a different item from them menu - each dish was absolutely delicious with so much flavour! I had the avo toast which was so tasty, with the specialty seasoned fries which were also incredible! Super friendly staff, amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Can’t wait to return! ”

“ Had a wonderful full English breakfast out on the lawn with two friends. We all said that was one of the nicest breakfasts we had eaten. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We will certainly return especially when the weather is nice and you can sit in the garden in relative tranquility. ”

“ Walked into an airy, fresh and very green place and immediately greeted by the warmest smile from Liv. Then my senses were lured in by the fresh cookies and other baked delights fresh out of the oven. I opted for a healthier option of the tomato, feta and spinach omelette and must say that it was cooked to utter perfection! Presentation also 10/10. I will admit to adding in the cheese toastie but I did just come from circuit training! The cheese was so tasty too. Freshly squeezed orange juice was sweet and their dirty chai latte was the best I’ve ever had. The rest of the team were equally warm and friendly and it was so nice to bump into at least 3 other people I know from the Southsea community. My new favourite breakfast place for sure!!!! ”
